“[Emotion Beach System] Simulation Resort”

Invited by System to design a site-specific mystery game inside Modern Art Museum Shanghai staged on a Saturday night. The work transforms the museum’s nightclub into a fictional resort, unfolding as an alternative reality game (ARG) around the structure of “multiverse(无限流）.”

A site-specific ARG was created and ran inside a real nightclub during a real party. What first appears as leisure - indoor beaches, palm trees, artificial lighting, gradually exposes itself as a mechanism of emotional extraction. Guests, addressed as the “99th Visitor,” encounter fragments of their previous iterations, uncovering the impossibility of departure. By embedding speculative system logic into a real social environment, the work blurs party and trap, play and enclosure, and asks whether escape is possible within a world designed to recycle every desire.
